Leadership during the excavation project
Boncuklu brought together researchers working on architecture, plants, animals, human remains, materials and landscape history. The Liverpool REF2021 account identifies Douglas Baird as project director and excavation permit holder. The university’s project summary describes joint direction with Andrew Fairbairn. Historical project materials identify Gökhan Mustafaoğlu as assistant director. These descriptions concern the documented field project; they are not a roster for a new season.
The 2026 heritage publication is authored by Steve Chaddock, Andrew Fairbairn, Douglas Baird and Gökhan Mustafaoğlu. Authorship establishes responsibility for that paper, not membership of a newly announced excavation team. The paper’s affiliations connect its authors with the University of Queensland, University of Liverpool, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University and Timeline Heritage.

Visitor and educational enquiries
For practical access questions, contact Konya Müze Müdürlüğü: konyamuzesi@ktb.gov.tr, +90 332 351 89 58. This is a museum administration contact, not a confirmed on-site reception line. School groups can prepare with the education resources while checking arrangements directly.
Use research participation information for the distinction between historical field schools and current opportunities. This website does not announce an open excavation recruitment programme.
Make an enquiry easy to direct
A useful message can be short: introduce yourself, name the article or theme, explain the question and state whether you seek a reference, a clarification or information about an institutional research route. A school enquiry should give the age group and the educational aim; a visitor enquiry should give the intended date and practical needs. These are different requests and may need different contacts. Keep sensitive personal information out of an initial message unless the receiving institution specifically requires it through an appropriate process. An address in a scholarly article is a route for professional correspondence, not evidence of a general visitor booking service or guaranteed supervision.
