The garden has been cleared (above) and the digging has begun of the foundations for our new replica house display. This season we are constructing replica Neolithic houses, under the guidance of Prof. Ofer Bar Yosef, to form part of our visitor centre. Boncuklu’s houses were built around and in large holes cut into the ground. In a few hours our local construction team (below) prepared a 3.5 m x 2.75 m area, 50cm deep building cut ready for construction of the mudbrick walls, which we plan to complete next week.
